There are several smart phones that are trying to reproduce the features on the Touch. If you don't want your phone services bound to your handheld, this is the device to get. Also if your kid is junior high or above, this is the device to get. The apps downloads are cheap, functional, and fun. My favorites are downloadable books, a graphing calculator, and high quality games. The WiFi detection is sensitive and connection is fairly fast so you can do your online stuff anywhere a signal is available. You can watch Youtube and TV clips too. Oh yeah, you can listen to music and show your photos as well. I'm amazed how much fun this thing is and how easy it is to use. My only negative is that text is difficult to enter with big fingers.
