Apple controls the means of production of all their hardware, so there should be little reason for any product they sell to be substandard, because if you own the means of production, then there is never a reason why any product should suffer from flawed manufacturing and certainly not bad customer service, but Apple, as you will notice if you ever buy one of their products, is terrible with not only customer service but also occasionally with manufacturing flaws.
My iPod will not work with the latest firmware upgrade their iTunes installed on it, but what's worse is it will not restore back to its factory settings no matter how I try. It's useless with the current firmware. This is inexcusable. Apple could care less if you buy a defective product from them. They're too busy focusing on the next "big thing" to care about your old product you bought last year.
