The device itself is wonderful. It works great for playing music and videos. I was hoping that it would replace my palm pilot, but it does not quite cut it. The notes feature does not snyc with MS outlook. It has a notes feature, but it will not communicate with Outlook. There is a third party notes feature that will allow me to upload my notes to the internet, but I have to do that at a WiFi hot spot, I can't do that over my DSL connection.
A drawback of the operating system it that music stored on the device has to also be stored on the hard drive of my desktop. That can hog up a lot of hard drive space. I had to restore my hard drive, and when I did, the Itunes software decicded to erase everything from my ipod. I was very disappointed.
The device gets 5 stars for the hardware and as a portable DVD replacement, but the quality of the operating system is just not up to the standard that I expect from Apple. If you want to replace your PDA this device is not the best choice, get a Blackberry.
