My iPod Touch does everything. This is a device for someone who doesn't want or need the phone, plus it offers more storage than the larger iPhone.
Any app you can imagine, you can find it. This device is so versatile, that I don't know how I lived without it. Definitely try it out as an ebook reader. I haven't carried a physical book in weeks!
No major problems to report, other than it locked up once and I couldn't figure out how to get it to reboot, unlike my old iPod.
Wifi? If you can get it, it's great. I check e-mail from my bed. I sometimes go to a sandwich shop with wifi to play around. Unfortunately, a lot of hotspots are not free.
