I think it is defective. The ear buds that came with it do not fit. The stem on the earbuds is fine. I think the iPod itself is the problem. I don't know yet because I have to drive 70 miles to the nearest Apple dealer to have them check it out. I haven't had time to do that. I couldn't get much help from the website or over the phone. Otherwise, it's great. If I cannot get the issue resolved at the Apple dealer, I am going to be angry.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 16 GB (2nd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.
