I won't duplicate many of the other reviewer's excellent comments and will keep this short so I can relate what I like best about the iPod Touch.
Other than listening to music, the other major reason I bought this was to use it to make phone calls using Skype. If you have a wireless connection you can make phone calls to anyone using Skype. Computer to computer is free, and calls to regular phones are about 2 cents a minute in the USA. To use this feature you will need earphones with a microphone and software version 3.0.
Other useful features using the wireless connection are stock quotes, weather forecasts, maps, and the web browser. I've already found the Maps feature very useful to find several addresses.
Everyone has different needs, but I recommend the iPod Touch because it does everything I expected and more. I also bought the DLO HipCase Leather Folio Case for iPod touch 1G and 2G (Black).
