The earphone jack stop working within 6 months on both of my 16G and 8G iPod Touches. Sensitive touch screen automatically switch from minimum to maximum sound volume or jump from one song to another without intervention on occasions. Some of the podcasts from iTunes do not run well on the Touch but runs fine on the computer. iTunes does not recognize the Touch at times and have to reconnect the cable before it will sync. iTunes boot up and run too slow. Too many signal dropouts from Safari, no cut and paste, and not compatible with many videos on the net. Warranty does not cover shipment after couple months from purchase - shipping charge is $30. One year extended warranty for the 8G is $60, which is around 30% of the devices. $100 to have the battery replaced on a $220 Touch. The new Touch will not work and will not charge on first generation iPod docking clocks or iPod car radios. Home button at times stuck in the closed position, have to push it a few times to unstuck it. The iPod has liquid submersion indicator voiding the warranty when it turns red even though water (distilled water for example) may cause no damage.
